Before Full Lip Procedure After Full Lip Procedure

Fever Blisters

If you have ever had a fever blister or a cold sore in your life, you will almost certainly break out with fever blisters on your lips after any lip procedure.

In order to help prevent this from occurring, it is absolutely essential that you either obtain a prescription for Zovirax and take as prescribed at least for one week prior to the procedure or obtain the amino acid L-Lysine from your local drug store and take as directed at least one week prior to the procedure. Also 12 capules / 500 mg. of Valtrex twice a day, 2 days before procedure and four days after or as physican prescribes. Failure to follow these recommendations may result in a break out of fever blisters, which may last up to six weeks.

Pigment Retention

It is extremely difficult to deposit permanent pigment into the tissue of the lips, since the lips do not have pores as the rest of the skin on your face. On the average, a permanent lip coloring procedure must be repeated an additional 1 or even 2 times after the initial application, at intervals of not less than 2 weeks, but preferably you should wait one month to get the maximum uptake. Under no circumstances can an application be repeated with in a time frame of less than 2 weeks. The tissue of your lips is not ready to accept new pigment at that time.

It is quite possible and not too uncommon that a few days after your initial pigment application your lips will look like nothing done to them and that 50% of the pigment has disappeared. In addition, the color may look blotchy due to the fact that pigment may take in some places and not in others. This easily be taken care of with the touchup procedure. You might feel that you just paid several hundreds to have your lips colored and you received absolutely nothing in return. This is not the case. The tissue beneath your lips has been saturated with pigment and with subsequent applications you will notice a much greater uptake of pigment each time. Since you cannot have your second application before you have your first application, this is the only way you can get the desired results.

We sincerely hope that you are one of the very few lucky individuals who get perfect results with one application, but that would be the exception rather than the rule. It is more likely that you will need at least one additional application.

Since each person has a different chemical and genetic makeup, it is impossible for us to tell you in advance exactly how much pigment attention you can expect with each applicaiton and how many applications you ultimately will need. We promise that we will give you 100% pigment saturation with each application but the amount you retain is unpredictable.

If more then two touch up are needed there will be an additional fee.

Please remember the amount of pigment you retain or lose after each application is not a reflection of quality of our work, but it depends entirely on your chemical and genetic makeup, over which we have no control.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call us any time.
