Cosmetology locations are a No No .
I cringe when a new client comes in for correction work that had their permanent cosmetics service done in a nail salon!
In the state of New Jersey, cosmetology licensed facilities such as any salon, studio, bar and/or spa ARE NOT allowed to do permanent cosmetic or microblading services. ⠀
Every tattoo licensed facility is annually inspected by the local health department to assure your safety due to needles and blood exposure. There is protocol that is taken seriously to prevent cross contamination and the safety of the client and the artist. On the other hand, cosmetology facilities are periodically, if not for several years, inspected by the division of customer affairs.
Not sure of the illegal locations?
If they offer any services below, permanent cosmetics are not legally permitted in the same facility: ⠀
Waxing⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Tanning⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Hair⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Nails⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Eyelash⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Esthetician⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Private homes⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Where is it legally permitted? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Medical licensed or tattoo licensed facilities⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀What about a medi spa? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Only if there is a medical doctor on location and/or a medical license displayed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Ask to see the license. You have the right.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
